This was a just-for-kicks piece during my beading frenzy. I saw the design in (can you guess??) Bead & Button magazine, so I substituted some different beads in and got this. You can see a lot of thread through the weave, and it feels a bit sloppy to me, but whatever. And of course, it reminds me of watermelon! Hence, the "name." So nothing special really.
